Inspection, testing and useful records
What is included in your PAT testing?
Our service combines visual inspection with the electrical tests appropriate to the equipment. The results give you a record of the items checked and any faults identified.
Inspection and testing
Checks on the accessible equipment made available for the agreed visit.
Item labelling
Pass labels applied to appliances that pass the assessment.
Your results in writing
A PDF PAT report or certificate, including the recorded pass or fail results, sent by email after payment under the agreed terms.
Tell us about any report deadline before booking. Repairs, replacement parts or additional work should be confirmed in the quotation.

A better item count gives a better estimate
What counts towards the number of tests?
Count the equipment, rather than the desks or people. A workstation may include a computer, monitor, docking station, mains leads and an extension lead.
Include detachable mains leads, extension leads and power adaptors in the list you send us. Explain how they are used so we can confirm the testing scope and chargeable count.
- Walk through each room, store and staff area.
- Include shared equipment, kitchen appliances and spare leads.
- Share your previous PAT report or asset list if available.
- Flag equipment that cannot be unplugged or easily reached.
Not sure of the total? An approximate count is enough to start the conversation. We will discuss the equipment before confirming your quote.

PAT testing for your workplace or property
The item count is a starting point. Access, equipment type and the appointment arrangements help define the work.

Offices and shared workspaces
Include workstations, meeting rooms, printers and staff areas. Plan access to desks and agree who will shut down IT equipment.
Office PAT testing
Venues and event equipment
Tell us about lighting, audio equipment, connectors and separate power leads. Agree safe access to any equipment normally installed at height.

Catering and shared facilities
Identify appliances in kitchens, staff rooms and communal areas. Mention heavy equipment or plugs that are difficult to reach.

What can affect the final PAT testing price?
Access and preparation
Locked rooms, inaccessible appliances and waiting for equipment can affect the work. Have a site contact available and explain restrictions before booking.
Time, date and location
Share your postcode and preferred appointment window. Early starts, evening access, separate sites or urgent deadlines need to be discussed with the quote.
The equipment and scope
Identify unusual connectors, equipment at height, critical IT and anything needing a separate assessment. Agree any repairs or additional services before work starts.
Prepare your IT equipment. Back up important data and arrange for users to shut down their equipment. Tell us about servers or systems that must remain operational so the testing arrangements can be discussed in advance.

PAT testing price questions
The published Prices page lists £119 for the first 30 items, then £1 per additional test, with a £1-per-test flat rate for larger orders. Send your count and premises details so the applicable rate and total can be confirmed in your quotation.
The service includes a PDF PAT report or certificate with the results for the items tested, sent by email after payment under the agreed booking terms. Explain any deadline before booking.
No. Send your best estimate and the types of equipment involved. A previous PAT report can help. Include detachable mains leads, adaptors and extension leads in your list so we can confirm how the equipment will be counted.
Ask us to confirm any repair or replacement allowance in your quotation. Do not assume every repair, replacement part or return visit is included in a per-test price.
Yes. Send the addresses, approximate equipment count at each site and access arrangements. A combined item total does not by itself describe the work across separate visits.
Tell us the time you can make the equipment available and any event, tenant or business deadline. The appointment and price are subject to time, date, location and availability.
There is no blanket legal requirement for annual PAT testing. HSE advises a risk-based approach that considers the equipment and how and where it is used. Your maintenance plan or venue requirements may call for particular checks or records.
No. An EICR assesses the fixed electrical installation and requires a separate quotation. PAT testing concerns electrical appliances and equipment. Tell us if you need both services so each scope is clear.
Send your equipment count, postcode and appointment requirements. Confirm the complete price, including the VAT position and any additional work, before accepting the quotation.
